Smart home kit is brilliant when it works and miserable when it doesn’t. The difference almost always comes down to two things: the underlying network, and how the devices are configured. We do both properly so you get a smart home you can actually live with — not one that needs the app reopened every morning.
We work across all the major ecosystems and we are equally happy bolting onto what you already own or starting from scratch. If you’ve bought something and can’t get it talking to the rest of your house, give us a call before you box it back up.

Network first, smart kit second
Half of all “smart home doesn’t work” calls are network problems. Before we add another twenty devices to your Wi-Fi we will check your signal, switch loading, and DHCP setup — and we will tell you honestly if you need a proper access point rather than another plug-in extender.
Frequently asked questions
- Will smart kit slow my Wi-Fi down?
- Not if it is set up properly. The usual problem is too many devices on one cheap router. We will check what you have and, if needed, add an access point or move some devices onto a dedicated IoT network so the rest of your kit keeps running fast.
- Can you make different brands work together?
- In most cases yes — via a hub like Home Assistant or SmartThings, or through HomeKit/Alexa/Google. We will tell you up-front if a particular combination is going to be painful before you spend money on it.
- I have a smart thermostat that worked, then stopped — can you fix it?
- Yes — most "smart thermostat stopped working" calls turn out to be a flat receiver battery, a Wi-Fi change, or a boiler interlock issue. Quick diagnostic visit and we will tell you what is going on.
